I wasn't planning on it. The only tutorials there were the textures guide and How I icon post, and since then my iconing style has changed quite a bit, so they're not exactly up-to-date.

FWIW, even if it isn't how you current make icons, I still find it interesting to delve into your thought processes. I love finding out how others approach iconning. I like meta-icons. ;-)

Is there any chance for a tutorial on your H5-0 icons?
I find them so tough to color properly...

All your icons are so clear without being blurry or pixilated. I'm having a hard time getting my bases to be so crisp, especially H50 caps. Could you possibly explain a little bit about how you prepare your bases?

This may sound silly, but I don't do anything besides cropping and maybe a screen layer before I add adjustment layers and textures.
But I always make sure that I have good quality caps, usually from http://tv.rawr-caps.net/

What I always do at the end to take care of blurriness and pixels:
merge everything and paste as a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E). Then I sharpen this layer and lower the opacity until I like the result. If there are pixelated areas, I merge everything again and smooth out the pixels with a small soft round brush.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific, but I hope this helps at least a bit.
